According to the official statement, the operation is part of Pacific Viper, launched in August, and already represents a historic milestone in the fight against drug trafficking. Since the beginning of the mission, more than 75,000 pounds of cocaine — equivalent to about 34 tons — have been seized in the region.

The average is striking: more than 800 kilos of drugs are intercepted per day.

Authorities highlighted that the seizures occurred across more than 20 interdictions since August 8. In addition to the drugs removed from circulation, 59 suspects linked to transnational criminal organizations were captured.

Fight against drug trafficking

The Coast Guard stressed that operations like Pacific Viper are essential to protect U.S. territory and destabilize criminal networks attempting to send large drug shipments to the United States.
